Vagabonds, memories and friends
This month has been new for us. We haven’t been back to our rental house (we sold our house in a week, remember?) in Oak Ridge, TN for almost a month! We’ve been in North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin since we last wrote. [JUNE 24]
We traveled over to the Raleigh, NC area to be with Catawba Springs Christian Church.
The over 200 year old church and the Woodruffs
were so kind and encouraging about what God is doing in SLC! We stayed in their wonderful mission house where Karis loved the huge playground “in her backyard!” [JULY 1]
We spent the holiday weekend with our longtime friends the Cunninghams and the faith family at Boones Creek Bible Church in Johnson City, TN.
Pastor Cunningham has an infectious passion for God and the gospel. They were so welcoming to us! [JULY 8]
Jon got to preach middle school camp at The Anchorage Camp in Lake Waccamaw, NC
for the week, and Victory Baptist Church in Whiteville
encouraged us as we shared with them before being at camp. It was also a privilege to present Plant4theGospel with the entire camp staff Sunday afternoon. Many conversations and prayer times with staff members came throughout the week about future partnerships! [JULY 16-17]
After enjoying seeing family and friends
at my brother’s wedding
in Detroit, MI on Saturday, we drove down to Open Door Baptist Church
in Indianapolis to be with the church that Jon grew up in. It was a joy to share God’s work in our lives with folks that have patiently invested in us and prayed for us over the years. [JULY 22]
We headed further north to serve at Beth’s parents church in Plymouth, WI. Faith Baptist Church
was so encouraging. Their words and enthusiasm for church planting...and Karis sure did enjoy being able to be at Gram and Papa’s for a little while! [JULY 23]
Northland Camp has been so kind to partner with our team! The teen and junior camps have taken an offering for us
over the summer to help us purchase our mobile church plant trailer. They have given over $6700! We were able to volunteer for the week with Jeremy and Misha Frazor at Pioneer Village Junior Camp
serving in preaching, music and office work. Great memories and a great week with friends! [JULY 25]
We attended Grace Baptist Church
while we worked at Northland from 2001-2004. It was a treat to be back with them for a service to present our ministry. Pastor and Mrs. Kimbrough are always incredibly gracious. [JULY 29]
Just a short drive south from Beth’s folks was First Baptist Church
of West Bend, WI. Pastor Dunford was very kind
to allow us to be with his church and present our work. The church has an incredible location with a great vision to connect with their community. We so enjoyed the time with Pastor and his wife. We have our last official deputation meeting this weekend at Burge Terrace Baptist Church in Indianapolis, then its home to pack! Check our schedule below!
A place to call home
Jon and Jonathan Albright took a quick trip together
to SLC to secure housing, connect with a couple from our core team
, and build contacts. God displayed his soveriegnty in giving great gospel conversations and displaying his will for housing. God gave us a great place to live! He opened it up for rent the week Jon was in SLC. We've signed a lease, and our family will be living right downtown in a townhouse just a few blocks from the temple square. There is a large family filled park nearby and people everywhere! We can't wait to move in and begin connecting with folks for the gospel!
This is a huge answer to prayer!
Our kind Father knows our needs
God is taking care of our family’s needs in this whole journey! This month, God has burdened three new monthly financial partners to speed us onward (churches and individuals
.) In order to ensure that we will be able to be in SLC for our first service with the team of tentmakers and leadership, Jon has secured graphic design work for about 38% of our support. Including that, we are at 80% of what we need
to be in SLC this fall. Because of the team assembling in SLC with us, we plan to move by faith August 13th.
God is amazing us with His provision for us. We've put 8000 miles on our car since May 13, and we are grateful for the safety and great times in the car that God has given us. Beth's sister and brother-in-law loaned us their portable DVD player, and Karis has loved picking out movies to shorten each trip a little!
