The Leadership Team

thumb Pastoral TeamA diversity of gifts...for the glory of God.

God has unified our hearts around the mission of seeing God's glory made known through the planting of local churches in the unreached corners of our country.

Over the last year, God has been moving individually and yet similarly in all four of our families. He began poking at our comfort zones and working on our hearts about steps of faith. We have been serving in our current ministries for the last 7-10 years. Through different friends and ministry connections, we began to talk and pray about mission-minded church planting. We took a survey trip together to Salt Lake City. God ignited incredible unity of vision and mission in our hearts! We believe that God has brought us all together "for such a time as this." The more we have sought God's will, the more we believed we must take what God has taught us over the last decade and share it with people who do not have access to it. Jonathan & Sarah Albright

The AlbrightsI was born in Chicago, Illinois and was raised in a pastor's home. The memories of my childhood and teen years were filled with illustrations of God's grace made evident through the life of my parents who faithfully served God and others in the church and consistently displayed a genuine walk with Christ. I was taught the gospel as child and came to faith in Christ as a 12-year-old boy. I went to Bob Jones University to study music, and my junior year I met my wife Sarah. The Lord began to change my heart regarding my attitude towards serving God and His Church and then following graduation I spent a year traveling with the Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team. That year was a defining moment in my life as I was discipled in an atmosphere of brotherly love. I was shaped by teammates who had a deep hunger for God and served Him with Christ-like humility. In 2002, the Lord directed Sarah and I to move to Brookfield Wisconsin to serve on the pastoral staff at Brookside Baptist Church as assistant pastor for music, media, college age adults. God has blessed us with three children; Samantha, Seth and Silas. The congregation at Brookside has illustrated the power of the gospel to save and transform lives. God has used our years at Brookside to confirm God's call on our lives to make disciples through the local church. I have a burden for college ministry, worship, discipleship and am fulfilled in caring for the flock of God. I am deeply committed to passionate private worship which fuels my corporate worship and service to God, fervent evangelism through developing gospel-centered relationships, and intentional discipleship by instruction and imitation. In each phase of my life I can look back and see a faithful, sovereign God who has directed each step in preparing my life for His next assignment. We believe wholeheartedly that God has prepared us for the task ahead and Sarah and I are thankful for God's kindness in allowing us to be a part of Plant4theGospel for the glory of God. We move forward by faith.

My Life verse:
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

Lukus & Liesl Counterman

Though I grew up in a pastor's home and was saved as a young boy, I did not desire a life of ministry. I went to University of Maryland to get my biology degree and hoped to succeed in the field of medicine. Before medical school I had a free semester so I went to grad school at Maranatha, at my parents’ suggestion. Then I spent the summer counseling at Northland Christian Camp. During that time in Wisconsin God captured my affections and redirected my life. He brought Liesl and me together and we were married in 2000. Instead of pursuing a medical career, I enrolled in the MDiv program at Calvary of Lansdale and took a position as an assistant pastor at my dad’s church. God freed me from following my own way and gave me a new passion: Christ and His church. He has blessed me with eleven years in pastoral ministry, the last seven years serving as lead pastor at Wichita Falls Baptist Church in Texas. I desired to minister at the local Air Force base, so I became a reserve chaplain in 2009. Many doors for the gospel have opened through the chaplaincy. Liesl and I have enjoyed working with people through evangelism and discipleship, military ministry, teaching, counseling, and children's discipleship (including the development of Truth Trackers). As pastor-teacher, my primary responsibility is handling the Word of God accurately. For me, this burden led to the completion of my Dmin through Dallas last May. Recently, God has enhanced my vision for the church and the spread of the gospel; as a result, I have sensed a need for church planting in the United States. Now, in 2011, God has called me to take my family to Salt Lake City, Utah, to participate in Plant4theGospel, a church planting initiative. With great excitement, we go by faith, trusting the Lord for His leadership, provision, and blessing.
I try to make these verses a reality in my life...
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:20-21

Will & Christy Galkin

My parents moved to Idaho from California when I was just a year old.  It was there in Idaho that my Mother received Christ and my Father began to live for God.  Through my Christian parents and the ministry of Grace Baptist church of Twin Falls, Idaho I began to hear the gospel regularly.  God did save me as a young boy but I did not learn to pursue God until my freshman year of college at NBBC.  At college many people poured their life into mine and modeled a life of enjoying Christ.  Upon graduation God provided the opportunity to minister with the Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team.   God used that season to fine tune a philosophy of ministry and cultivate a burden for the churches of America.  While ministering, Christy and I got to know one another and were married in 2000.  Based out of Red Rocks Baptist church, our family began to travel on our own in 2003.  Since then the Lord has blessed us with five children and has allowed us to develop a team of people to minister on our evangelistic team.  Having grown up three hours away from Salt Lake City I have found myself praying often that God would call another round of church planters to the Salt Lake City area.  Connected to those prayers I have found myself burdened for the creation of healthy churches in strategic metro areas in the United States.  We believe that by God’s grace and in faith we are to participate with Plant4theGospel and the church planting team for Salt Lake City. To God be the Glory!

My ministry philosophy...
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. 2 Corinthians 4:5

Jon & Beth Kopp

God has graciously revealed the gospel to me all my life. My parents were faithful in opening God's word to me with every opportunity they could. Whether that was instilling in me scripture at home, keeping us in strong Bible-teaching churches, reminding me of the gospel, or entertaining godly families in our home, I grew up saturated with the truth and saw it genuinely lived out in my godly parents and in the godly individuals they kept me in contact with. Sadly, I used those freedoms as an occasion for the flesh. Though I had made a profession of belief in the gospel at a young age, my early memories of a spiritual life were morality for the sake of manipulation and attention. As I grew into high school and began to read and apply the Bible to my heart, I saw my first glimpses of genuine consistent growth at the heart level. God's gracious humbling of my heart continued while serving on the leadership team at Northland Camp for four summers. I recieved a ministry degree from Bob Jones University in 2004, and Beth and I met and were married while we were there. God graciously has allowed me to serve in my former youth pastor's church, Oak Ridge Baptist in Oak Ridge, TN since 2004. My primary responsibilities are leading the music and worship and the student ministry. I also coordinate the media and technology. I have fallen in love with local church ministry. I love studying the scripture and boldly proclaiming what God has shown me. I love expending myself (emotionally, mentally and physically) in my church. I love leading a crowd of believers to seeing and savoring God through song. I love watching God take an individual to another spiritual step. I love seeing fruit come from a project or a gospel conversation. I can do nothing else with my life. Beth and I have given our free time to ministry media work, children's discipleship and community involvement. I serve on the board for Kids4Truth, and Beth serves on the board for a crisis pregnancy center. Over the last year, God has grabbed us with the burden to plant new gospel works in the cities of America. Beth and I look through our fears and uncertainties about the future with confidence to our Savior who has given us abundant life.

A verse that I try to make define my life...
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. Galatians 6:14
